Ingredients
- 3 ½ cups (440g) all-purpose flour
- 1 cup (240ml) warm milk (not hot)
- 2 ¼ tsp (1 packet) active dry yeast
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp butter (softened)
- 1 egg (optional, for richer texture)

1. Activate the yeast
- In a bowl, mix warm milk + sugar + yeast
- Let it sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy
2. Make the dough
- Add flour, salt, butter, and egg (if using)
- Mix until a soft dough forms
3. Knead
- Knead for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic
- (You can use a mixer or your hands)
4. First rise
- Place dough in a greased bowl
- Cover and let it rise for 1–1.5 hours (until doubled)
5. Shape
- Punch down the dough
- Shape into a loaf or rolls
- Place in a greased baking pan
6. Second rise
- Cover and let rise again for 30–45 minutes
7. Bake
- Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 25–30 minutes
- Top should be golden brown
