🧄 Ingredients:
For the dough:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp olive oil or butter
- ~3/4 cup warm water (adjust as needed)
For the filling:
- 200g (about 7 oz) ground beef or lamb
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- Salt & pepper to taste
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp cumin (optional)
- Chopped parsley (optional)
For assembly:
- 1 egg yolk (for egg wash)
- A fork (to seal the edges)
🧑🍳 Instructions:
- Prepare the dough:
- In a bowl, mix flour and salt.
- Add oil/butter and gradually add warm water until a smooth dough forms.
- Knead for 5-7 minutes, cover, and let rest for 20 minutes.
- Prepare the filling:
- In a bowl, combine ground meat, onion, garlic, spices, and parsley. Mix well.
- Shape the pastries:
- Roll out the dough and cut into circles using a cup or cutter.
- Place a spoonful of meat mixture in the center of one circle.
- Cover with another circle, press down the edges with a fork to seal.
- Bake:
- Brush tops with egg yolk.
- Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 20–25 minutes or until golden brown.
- Serve:
- Best served warm with garlic yogurt dip or your favorite sauce.

- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- Salt to taste
- A drizzle of olive oil
