Twisted Puff Pastry Wraps with Cheese and Ham (or Bacon)

All you need is a few simple ingredients to put together a yummy meal!

📝 Ingredients:

  • 1 sheet of puff pastry (or flatbread if homemade style)
  • Slices of ham, bacon, or prosciutto
  • Shredded cheese (mozzarella, cheddar, or mixed cheese)
  • Fresh parsley or spinach leaves
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • Optional: black pepper, garlic powder

👩‍🍳 Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Filling:
    • Wash and chop fresh parsley or spinach.
    • In a bowl, mix the shredded cheese and herbs. Add a bit of black pepper or garlic powder if desired.
  2. Assemble the Wraps:
    • Cut the puff pastry into long rectangles (about 2–3 inches wide).
    • On each strip, place a slice of ham or bacon.
    • Add a spoonful of the cheese mixture over the meat.
    • Fold the strip in half lengthwise (over the filling), then twist it gently to create the spiral shape (as shown in the first image).
  3. Bake:
    • Place the twisted wraps on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
    • Beat the egg and brush the tops of the twists with the egg wash.
    • Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (390°F) for about 15–20 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
  4. Serve:
    • Let them cool slightly and serve warm. They’re perfect for snacks, parties, or breakfast!
