Seeded Bread Dough Recipe

Ingredients:

3 cups all-purpose flour (or bread flour)

1 tablespoon sugar

1 teaspoon salt

2 teaspoons instant yeast

1 1/4 cups warm water (around 110°F / 45°C)

2 tablespoons olive oil (optional, for added softness)

2-3 tablespoons mixed seeds (e.g., flaxseeds, sesame seeds, or chia seeds)

Instructions:

  1. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, salt, and instant yeast. Stir well to evenly distribute the ingredients.
  2. Add Seeds: Add the seeds and mix them into the dry ingredients.
  3. Add Wet Ingredients: Gradually add the warm water and olive oil to the dry mixture. Stir until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the Dough: Transfer the dough onto a lightly floured surface. Knead it for about 8-10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic. The dough should be slightly sticky but manageable.
  5. First Rise: Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover it with a damp cloth or plastic wrap, and let it rise for 1-2 hours, or until it doubles in size.
  6. Shape the Dough: After the dough has risen, gently punch it down to release air. Shape it into a round or desired shape.
  7. Second Rise (Optional): Let the shaped dough rise again for about 30-45 minutes.
  8. Bake: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the bread for 25-30 minutes or until the top is golden brown and it sounds hollow when tapped.
  9. Cool and Enjoy: Let the bread cool on a wire rack before slicing.
